Fish and Wildlife Biologist

will have their qualifications reviewed to determine if they possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the work of this position.
Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and State environmental laws, regulations, regulatory process, policies related to conservation, restoration sufficient to ensure that Service interests are adequately represented and fully considered.
Ability to communicate (oral or written) effectively, including the ability to convey complex ecological and regulatory/procedural information to a variety of audiences (internal and external) and to be highly persuasive in written and oral communication, with particular emphasis on skills and abilities related to technical writing, public speaking, and negotiating complex issues with the general public, private landowners, agency representatives, and county officials.
Broad professional knowledge or experience with scientific and ecological principles and practices for protecting, restoring, and enhancing fish and wildlife habitat and evaluating and developing appropriate minimization and mitigating strategies in a wide variety of complex, sensitive, and/or controversial projects.
Gathers, organizes, and interprets biological, ecological, pathological, public use, or other pertinent information to insure management plans are current.
Assists with implementation of management plans, studies and investigations required for species propagation/production, resource protection, ecological factors, public information, and other aspects of natural resource management.
