SUMMARY: C-Port Marine Services is accepting resumes forpart-timeDeckhandto work on a 41 utility vessel and a 32 high speed vessel during training operations for the US Coast Guard at Mobile Bay. Deckhands shall be knowledgeable in shipboard operations, rigging for helicopter operations, and deck seamanship. Individual should have stability under pressure and have the ability to withstand the stresses associated with the job''s physical demands, potentially hazardous situations, and unpredictable weather.

LOCATION: Boat departs and returns from Fairhope, Alabama (prefer job seeker located in Baldwin County area).


Handles mooring lines and rigging.
Ensure that safety equipment is utilized and appropriate guidelines are followed for all tasks involving physical risk or hazardous materials.
Develop understanding of all phases of shipboard safety procedures and knowledge of location and use of all firefighting and safety equipment (i.e. fire extinguishers, fire stations, life preservers, work vest, and life floats).
Participate in meetings, training, drills and safety audits as required by Customer & Company policy.
Must possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service solutions and interact with coworkers and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one (1) year boating experience as a deckhand.
Merchant Marine credential as an ordinary seaman, highly desired.
Experience with helicopter/vessel close proximity operations desired.
Military experience preferred. Coast Guard or Navy experience highly desired.

Travel may be required for this position. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
