Central Supply Coordinator

Summary of Duties
Coordinate purchase of medical supplies, office supplies, forms, and equipment. Organize the storage and catalog location of supplies and equipment for efficient handling and to prevent deterioration. Input data and processes information to designated sources. Ensure compliance with all standards and regulations of records processing.
Essential Job Functions
Assist in preparing correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipments, etc., and return to vendor as required.
Assist in developing methods for determining quantity of supplies and equipment required.
Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing Services/Clinical Services Administrator concerning procurement procedures as directed.
Deliver emergency supplies and equipment as directed.
Fill requisitions, as approved, and files in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Issue and deliver supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Check invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, etc, with incoming merchandise.
Organize storage and catalog location of supplies and equipment for efficient handling and to prevent deterioration.
Develop and monitor inventory control.
Conduct and complete chart reviews as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services/Clinical Services Administrator.
Maintain a procedure for access to closed records, including the process for an outside source and/or resident to request a copy of the record.
Secure chart from floor, all data from current file, all administrative files, and any data off current chart related to each resident (ie. LOA sheets, inventory of personal effects sheet, ADL and MAR sheets)
Assemble chart into the "Order of Final Filing" following procedure to address incomplete files and compliance with discharge protocol.
Complete monthly death report for the State of Alabama.
Perform other duties and responsibilities including special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience preferred. Experience in medical/surgical supply environment preferred.
Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions
Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for six to eight hours per day.
Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry up to 50 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
Must be able to work with hands and fingers throughout the workday.
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be able to reach in any direction intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to transport an object intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
